Feeling Wheel - Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Feeling Wheel helps you name and track your emotions. This policy covers the iPhone and Android apps. It explains what stays on your phone, what the app sends, who receives it, and how you can control it.

Your diary stays on your phone. Feeling Wheel has no account system and no server of its own. Your entries, notes and reflections are stored only on your device, and I never receive them. The app does send anonymous usage statistics so I can see which parts of it people use. These are anonymous: they are not linked to your name, your email address, an account or any advertising identifier, and I have no way to connect them to you.

Who is responsible

Feeling Wheel is made by Natasha Wilson, an independent app developer working as a sole trader in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, Natasha Wilson is the data controller.

Data stored on your device only

The following is kept in the app's storage on your phone. The app never sends it to me or to anyone else, and it is deleted when you delete the app:

Reminders are scheduled on your phone. No notification is sent from a server.

Device backups. If you back up your phone to iCloud or to your Google account, your Feeling Wheel entries are included in that backup, along with your other apps' data. The backup belongs to your Apple or Google account and is handled under Apple's or Google's privacy policy. I cannot see or access it. This is also how your history moves to a new phone.

You can export your own copy of your history from the app's Settings at any time.

Anonymous usage statistics

Feeling Wheel uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used, so I can tell which features help people and which need work. The events are tied to a random identifier that Firebase creates for each installation of the app. That identifier is not your name, email address, phone number, account or advertising identifier, and it changes if you delete and reinstall the app.

The app sends events such as:

Emotion words (iPhone only)

On iPhone, when you record, save or cancel an entry, the event includes the emotions you picked from the wheel's built-in list and their categories, for example "pressured" in the "stressed" category. This tells me which words people reach for, so I can improve the wheel. It is anonymous like every other event: it is never sent with your notes, your name or anything that identifies you.

What is never sent, on either platform:

The Android app does not send the names of the emotions you pick.

Crash reports

Both apps use Firebase Crashlytics. If the app crashes, it sends a crash report with technical details: the device model, operating system version, app version and the point in the code where the crash happened. Crash reports contain no entries, notes or emotion words and are only used to fix bugs.

Purchases

Feeling Wheel Pro is an optional subscription (monthly or yearly) or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Payments are handled by Apple on iPhone and Google Play on Android, and purchases are managed through RevenueCat, which processes:

This contains nothing about your entries, emotions or notes. I never see your payment card details, which go only to Apple or Google.

No advertising and no tracking

Feeling Wheel shows no ads. It does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) or Google's Android advertising ID, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. Your data is never sold or shared with data brokers or advertisers.

Your choices

Children

Feeling Wheel is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please email me and I will act on it.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. Your diary is only on your phone, so you can delete any of it yourself in the app. The anonymous statistics and crash reports cannot be traced back to you, so I cannot pick out yours. If you have a question about data held by any of the services above, email feelingwheelapp@gmail.com and I will help.

You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner's Office.

Data retention

Data on your phone is kept until you delete it or delete the app. Usage statistics, crash reports and purchase records are kept according to Firebase's, RevenueCat's, Apple's and Google's own policies, linked above.

Not a medical service

Feeling Wheel is a wellbeing tool. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a medical device. Your entries are your own record of how you feel, kept for you.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change too. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
