Rehearsal — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 September 2026

Rehearsal is a speech-practice app for iOS. You record yourself speaking through short practice scenarios, and the app measures how you sounded — pace, filler words, longest fluent stretch, and pauses. This policy explains what data the app collects, who processes it, and how you can control it.

Speech recognition happens entirely on your device. Rehearsal uses iOS's on-device SpeechAnalyzer to turn your recording into text and word timings. Your voice is never sent to us or to any server to be transcribed — there is no server in that path at all.

Who is responsible

Rehearsal is made by Natasha Wilson, an independent app developer trading as a sole trader in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, Natasha Wilson is the data controller.

Data stored on your device only

Rehearsal has no account system and no server. The following is kept in local app storage, is never transmitted to us, and is deleted when you delete the app (or when you delete it yourself in Settings):

Deleting a past attempt deletes its audio file from your device at the same time — nothing is left orphaned on disk.

What the app never does

Rehearsal measures how you said something. It never analyses, stores, or judges what you said. There is no AI or language model reading your words, no sentiment or confidence scoring, and no advice generated about what you should have said. The transcript exists on your device only to compute timing-based metrics and to let you review your own words afterwards.

Microphone access

Rehearsal asks for microphone access to record your practice attempts. This is the only permission the app requests. Recording only happens when you actively start a session; the app does not listen in the background.

Purchases and subscriptions

Rehearsal offers optional one-time deck purchases and a Rehearsal Pro subscription. Purchases are handled by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, which processes:

We never see or receive your payment card details — those go to Apple alone. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.

Summary of third parties

ServicePurposeApplies when
RevenueCat Managing subscriptions and entitlements Always, if purchases are available
Apple Processing payments, App Store delivery, on-device speech recognition You make a purchase; you use the app at all

Children

Rehearsal is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will act on it.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. Because Rehearsal has no account system and stores everything only on your device, the fastest way to erase everything we could possibly hold is to use Settings → Delete everything, or to delete the app.

For data held by our processors, contact us at flourishtechcoaching@gmail.com and we will pass the request on. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

Data retention

On-device data is kept until you delete it yourself or delete the app. Data held by RevenueCat and Apple is retained according to their own published policies, linked above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised policy.
